AISI 440F and 440F-se are high-carbon chromium steels designed to provide stainless properties with maximum hardness; approximately Rockwell C 60 after heat treatment. Type 440F or 440F-Se should be considered for machined parts which require higher hardness values than possible with other free-machining grades.
Available forms of AISI 440F and 440F-se are round bar and forgings.
