Monel 400® is a unique, high strength alloy of nickel and copper. Frequently employed in critical and high performance applications, Monel 400® exhibits excellent resistance to acids and alkalis, good thermal conductivity, and good ductility, and can be hardened only by cold-working. It is suitable for use in temperatures ranging from subzero to 1,000°F (538°C). Monel 400® is the only alloy in the Monel® family to be considered a “puritan alloy”—it contains the same amount of nickel and copper content as naturally-occurring nickel ore extracted from the Sudbury mines in Ontario, Canada.
